Vedra:Vedra is Tao's mom.Vedra protected Tao like a lion.She protected Tao because she didn't want people to kill her son.
Kala tells Tao about his mother Vedra, he gets really excited and wants to know more about her. When he heard how she protected him, he was very happy.She never gave up on him, she was fierce and was very angry at the people who were trying to kill him she was biting and yelling at the people who wanted to kill him.

Vedra is Tao's mother and one of the mountain people.She wanted to protect Tao from the people who wanted to kill him.she really cared for Tao even though he had a deformed foot.She was sixteen summers old.Vedra didn't want tao to be taken away she fought ,screamed ,and bit them to save Tao.She liked making stuff out of pebbles and fish bones.she made necklaces ,beads, bracelets ,needles and, she had the wisdom and the sense of a women.

Tao's mother fought back like a lion to keep Tao safe. She kept Tao safe for many winters. Then when the summer came Vedra died.Tao's father left him for the hyenas. Kala was kind enough to take care of Tao.
